4/11/12 ~ Sadly our time in Italy had come to an end and it was time to head out to Milan to catch our flight home to Galway. The girls made another delicious breakfast spread of eggs, toast, fruit, cereal and other goodness for us to enjoy before our journey. I have to say they were the most amazing hosts and it was awesome getting a chance to meet and spend time with them in Italy. We walked at a decent pace to the train station and purchased our tickets with no trouble for the first time in Italy. This time our train was right near the ticket booth so we didn't have to run to catch it. It was a long enough ride to Milan so we settled in for the journey and relaxed.

Halfway through the ride at one of the stops two gypsies got on the train and were basically harassing people for money. There was an Italian girl sitting across from us by herself and they started to harass her then walked away. They then proceeded to come back and got in her face this time about 6 or 7 men on the train all stood up and were ready to defend her before they ran away... but also had stolen her phone from her purse. I felt really bad, but had no idea what to do. Several of the men helped her out and it was really nice to see that they were there for a stranger who they had never met. There were no more incidence for the rest of our journey and we made it to the train station in Milan with ease. We then had one more train ride to get to the city of Bergamo where the Milan-Bergamo Airport is. (Flying Ryanair is cheaper but the airports are not always in the actual city). We got there and then took a short bus ride to the airport where we had plenty of time to kill and Megan got an Italian Easter Egg with a prize inside. 

Hello Ryanair!!!

We had a decent amount of time and had some fun taking pictures in the airport and waching the movie UP before our plane ride back to Ireland. We got back to Dublin and had a 3 hour bus ride on GoBus back to Galway, which was filled with an attempt at watching the most recent Grey's Anatomy that sadly wouldn't load so it was then occupied by sleep. Our 15 hours of transport that day were coming to an end. All in all the trip to Italy was an amazing and memorable experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
